SUPPLYING ARTWORK TO NICK WALKER

  • Bleed

“Bleed” is colour and/or images that run off the edge of the page. The bleed is then trimmed off, ensuring no white lines or edges appear on the finished document. 3mm bleed is required.

  • Safe Zone

Refers to the margin between the text and graphics that are not meant to be trimmed, and the finished edge of the printed item. Due to the tolerances involved within the printing process, the cut can be anywhere between the bleed and safe zone. It is important to keep your text and important images within the safety margins. A 5mm margin is required from the edge of the printed item and text and important images.

  • Image / Logo Files

    Image Files

You need to ensure that your image files are supplied correctly in your artwork file.

We will notify you if any image files are missing or not linked correctly in your document.

    Logo Files

Your logo files should be supplied as .eps or vector files.

  • Picture Image Resolution

Low resolution images in your artwork could appear blurred or pixelated when they are printed.

For print, your images will need to be 300 dpi and not enlarged by more than 120% in your artwork.

  • Trim Marks / Trim Size

    Trim Marks

Are marks placed on the printed sheet to indicate where cuts should be made and should be offset by 3mm from the edge of the paper.

    Trim Size

The final size of a printed piece after being cut from the sheet of paper that it was printed on.

Environmental Policy

The paper that we stock is predominantly FSC® certified, this helps to protect forests and reduce our environmental impact.

The FSC® (The Forest Stewardship Council®) is an organisation working to promote the practice of responsible forestry across the world. They set standards for forest products and independently certify that these standards are being met. Paper is sourced in a more environmentally friendly, socially responsible, economically viable and sustainable manner from a well-managed forest and other controlled sources.

Recycled papers are also available.
